科才河位于夏河县，属于黄河干流水系，为洮河上游左岸一级支流。

河道状况

科才河科才新村段河道比降较大，主流摆动不定，加之防洪设施薄弱，汛期洪水经常淹没村庄、草场，对该村群众和村舍的安全造成较大威胁。
