小寨乡位于甘肃省岷县，地处北纬34°38′，东经104°00′，距县城35公里，古代属岷县后土司领地。

小寨乡1944年属会川县中寨区，1958年划归岷县中寨公社，1961年设小寨公社归中寨区管，1982年改为小寨乡，2000年裁撤，归中寨镇管。2001年中寨镇更名为中寨镇。
