在山东寿光市县北一百十里，与广饶县互界，旧为海滨荒钜镇，地控小清河出海之口，重要胜于龙口市、烟台市，龙口、烟台亦藉此与省城交通，水运便利，利津县、桓台县、寿光所产之盐，多萃于此。
